The Percy connection
- Based on tradition and the Pennington coat of arms, which strongly resembles that of the Percy family, it has been suggested that Gamel de Pennington was an acknowledged illegitimate son of an early Percy family member. The Pennington coat of arms is identical to an early Percy one, with the colors reversed.
