Family History Book: Barrington
- The earliest form of the Barrington name is Barenton, most likely derived from the placename of a town or commune in Normandy, France. While Amy Barrington claims the name appears in Domesday Book, I was unable to find it there. Otherwise, the earliest reference discovered so far is in Testa de Nevill, dating to 1216.
