Thanksgiving in Florida

The wifi connection in my hotel room doesn't work on either my Windows laptop or the Orange Pi, although I was able to connect using my Android phone. So, I set up a hotspot using the phone and am now happily playing Scott Adams' podcast while writing this. Simultaneously, although there are only a few electric outlets available in the room, and to use them I had to unplug lamps and the alarm clock, I did that and am charging two USB power banks, my phone and am able to run the Orange Pi and portable monitor. If I had been really intelligent about it, I would have brought an extension cord or power strip, but extra USB cables and charging blocks are doing the trick. Yay me.

I'm killing some time before going over to Craig's for Thanksgiving dinner. He said they plan to eat about 3 p.m., and he's picking up Dad at 2:00. I offered to pick up Dad if that would help, but he hasn't answered that yet so unless he says yes, I'll just go directly to his & Rebecca's house. David said yesterday that he'll come over to visit tomorrow, since they are having the holiday at Chrissy's. I hope that means Angela and the kids will also come over, but if not I'll see if I can wrangle an invitation to go over there to see them. Byron's birthday present arrived just before I left home, so I'll try to find some giftwrap and give that to him rather than have to mail it. When I get home I need to get busy on my Christmas shopping!
